Contrast in Matthew 26

For a long time, I've been familiar with the story of the
woman who poured her expensive perfume on Christ's head, and
how Judas betrayed Him for 30 pieces of silver. But it didn't
occur to me, until today, that the two stories are back to
back, as a stark contrast, in Matthew 26.

On the one hand, you have a woman making a very costly
investment in Christ. On the other, you have Judas asking the
Scribes and Pharisees how much they'll give him to hand Christ
over to them.

What a contrast.

--
Christ died for our sins, and God raised Him from the dead.
Rely on this work alone to escape hell and receive eternal
life (Jn. 3:16; 1 Cor. 15:1-3; Eph. 2:8-10; 2 Thess. 1:8-9).

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself
up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every
thought to make it obedient to Christ. †2 Corinthians 10:5
